Answers for Bidsmith v2.3.5 — Freelancer bid drafting with your OpenAI key
How Bidsmith works today
Bidsmith drafts Freelancer.com bid proposals using your own OpenAI API key. It does not manage snippets, tags, or right-click menus.
It does not submit a bid. On the proposal box, Write fills Freelancer’s proposal, selects Sealed, and sets milestones. You submit with Freelancer’s own Place Bid if you want to.
From the Chrome Web Store, click Add to Chrome. For an unpacked build:
See the Privacy Policy.
New-project desktop alerts are on by default. So that a matching project reaches you within about a minute even with no Freelancer tab open, Bidsmith checks Freelancer’s own public project listing at most once a minute using your existing Freelancer session. Only one check is ever outstanding, the rate is capped at 130 an hour, and if Freelancer rate-limits or errors Bidsmith waits progressively longer (5, 10, 20, 40, up to 60 minutes) before trying again.
The result never leaves your device: it is matched against your saved filters and, if you set one, your per-skill alert scope; matching projects become a notification, and their ids are stored locally so nothing is announced twice. Nothing goes to OpenAI or to the developer.
Uncheck “Notify me about new matching projects” in Settings → Notifications or in the toolbar popup and the check stops completely.
Juno is the default nickname. Change it in Settings → Connection under “Call me…”. It renames the popup title, the in-page button labels, toasts, alerts, and the toolbar tooltip. It is saved on this Chrome profile and is included in the Google-account settings backup. The extension itself is always called Bidsmith in the Chrome Web Store, in chrome://extensions, and in permission prompts.
The extension is free. Bid generation uses your OpenAI account and is billed by OpenAI. Submitting on Freelancer spends one of your Freelancer bid credits, exactly as bidding on the site normally would. Bidsmith does not click Place Bid. Bidsmith does not sell keys or include unused snippet features.
